Mitsubishi Cable Industries to Reorganize Auto Component Sites

Mitsubishi Cable Industries announced on Wednesday the firm reorganizes domestic production network for automotive electric components. The firm will close Chino plant in Nagano to produce automotive connectors, Izumizaki plant in Fukushima to produce automotive wiring harness for trucks and construction machineries, and Nerima office in Tokyo to develop and design automotive electric components. Then production and develop functions will be integrated mainly into Kumagaya works in Saitama. The firm expects better productivity, faster development and more efficient distribution by the integration.Kayano plant and Nerima office will be closed by the end of March 2009 while Izumizaki plant by the end of September 2009. Mitsubishi Cable Industries has established and strengthened commercial production system of auto components in Dalian, China and Indonesia. The firm almost completed the first phase expansion at these offshore sites and decided integration of domestic auto component business in and around Kumagaya works. Kumagaya works is Mitsubishi Cable Industries’ main plant to produce electric cables, near to the users and a discharging port of auto components.
