Secondary Al Alloy Price Keeps Flat in Osaka

Secondary aluminium alloy makers and the consumers, mainly die casting makers, mostly concluded price negotiations for July shipment around Osaka. Alloy makers’ selling price seemed to be set at 305-310 yen per kilogram for AD12.1 grade for small-lot shipment in July (on 120-day draft base). Alloy maker sources said the price averagely kept the same level as June.Osaka based alloy makers held price negotiations with large-lot consumers, such as automakers and auto part makers, in early June. The selling price remarkably downed for July-September shipment compared with the previous quarter. The small-lot price was expected to decline for July initially, impacted by the large-lot price.Alloy makers offered price hike by more than 10 yen per kg for July shipment compared with June. The negotiations were unfavorable for alloy makers in the early phase, influenced by the price down for large-lot consumers. However, primary aluminium price temporarily jumped up to above 370 yen per kg in mid July and pushed up the secondary aluminium alloy price.Alloy makers will offer wide price hike again for August shipment since they are suffered from higher fuel and substantial material costs.
