Japan Secondary Al Alloy Shipment Slightly Down in June

Japanese secondary aluminium alloy shipment decreased by 0.9% to 97,427 tonnes in June from a year earlier, which represented year-on-year down for 4 straight months, announced by Japan Aluminium Alloy Refiners Association. The production decreased by 0.5% to 97,386 tonnes in June from a year ago, which showed y/y down in April 2008 and in June again when alloy makers implemented output reduction.The shipment was 25,906 tonnes for castings in June, increasing by 1.7% y/y. On the other hand, the shipment decreased by 2.5% y/y to 54,188 tonnes for die castings. The shipment growth has slowed down for die castings.
