Japan Secondary Al Makers to Invest Energy Saving Burner

Japanese secondary aluminium alloy makers introduce regenerative burner one after another due to the better energy saving under higher cost for energy. Osaka based Summit Showa Aluminium decided the introduction during year end holiday with support by New Energy & Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) and other makers submitted the application for the support to NEDO. The makers try to improve the energy saving by introducing the 30% better energy performance burner despite of the 100 million yen of cost and the outage opportunity loss. NEDO encourages the makers to introduce the better performance equipment by supporting around a third of subsidy for the investment. The industry sources said bunker A heavy oil price is 110 yen per litter and would increase in October-December. A source said suppliers try to increase the recycled heavy oil price from 50 yen to 60 yen.
