Kubota to Expand Rolling Roll Output by 25% by F2009

Kubota Corporation expands the steel rolling roll output by around 25% by the end of fiscal 2009 ending March 2010 compared with fiscal 2007. The firm adds new equipment at Amagasaki plant in Hyogo and improves the existing facilities for more than 500 million yen. The firm tries to shorten the lead time by improving the existing facilities. The firm adds 2 heat treating furnaces in fiscal 2009 and large turning machine by the end of fiscal 2009. The firm tries to follow the growing demand in offshore market when Chinese makers expand the capacity. The firm is getting inquiry mainly for roll of hot strip mill. The firm makes roll for hot strip mill, concrete reinforcing steel bar, wire rod and H-beam. The unit posted around 6 billion yen of sales in fiscal 2007.
