Japan Steel Export Rises by 3.4% in August

Japanese steel export increased by 3.4% to 3.268 million tonnes in August from a yea earlier, announced by Ministry of Finance. The export value increased by 23.3% to 433.912 billion yen. The export increased for USA, European Union and Asia in volume and value. The import decreased by 12.7% to 563,665 tonnes while the import value increased by 28.1% to 106.684 billion yen. The import decreased both in volume and value from USA and dropped by more than 70% in volume from Russia. The export volume increased by 5.1% for USA in August from a year earlier. The export increased by 37.6% for EU and by 2.3% for Asia. The export to China increased by 3%. The export value increased by 5.1 to USA, by 10% to EU and by 27.8% to Asia. The export value increased by 17.5% to China, by 25% to Asian Newly Industrializing Economies and by 36% to Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The import volume decreased by 36.6% from USA in August from a year earlier. The import increased by 2.3% from EU and by 1.4% from Asia. The import increased by 21.9% from China and by 58.2% from ASEAN. The import value decreased by 17.2% from USA and by 10.5% from EU while the import value increased by 39.9% from Asia. The import value increased by 80% from China, by 18.2% from NIES and by 32.4% from ASEAN.
