Nippon Metal Industry Expands the Sales of Austenite Series Stainless Products

Nippon Metal Industry announced on Friday the firm increases the sales of austenite nickel series stainless steel for spring, NTKD-78 in domestic and overseas market. The firm will increase application of it for building material, electronic or automobile component. The selling price of it is lower by 10-15% than austenite series SUS304 when contained amount of nickel is low for NTKD-78.

NTKD-78 includes 17% of chrome, 2.5% of nickel, 6% of manganese and 2.3% of iron. The firm developed NTKD-78 in 2007. The demand for NTKD-78 is increasing for stainless steel spring for electronic component, which is being used for precision component for printer or digital camera.

The firm decreased the output of NTKD-78 to over 100 tonnes per month currently due to economic crisis, but the output is kept firm compared with SUS304 which is general products.
