Osaka Steel, One Steel Agree to Deepen Alliance

Osaka Steel announced on Tuesday the firm supplies I-beam to One Steel, a steel maker in Australia, from this summer. Osaka Steel continually exports to Oceania area to strengthen the overseas operation as a result of this agreement.

Osaka Steel agreed to supply unequal steel angle to One Steel since November 2008 following memorandum of understanding among 2 firms. For the supply of I-beam from this summer, Osaka Steel introduces the specialized roll into headquarters plant to produce the beam for One Steel. One Steel pays for the cost of the new facility.

The firms cooperate about the development of technology such as streamlining of electric arc furnace through the application of waste polymer and rubber, which One Steel has sub license, and rotary kiln dust reducing furnace, which Osaka Steel plans to start the running at the plant in Kumamoto by March 2010.
