Sheet Steel Price Keeps Flat with Strong Tone in Tokyo

Sheet steel market price keeps flat with strong tone at around 60,000-62,000 yen per tonne for hot rolled flat steel, 60000-63000 yen for pickled steel sheet, 73,000-77,000 yen for cold rolled steel sheet and 85,000-88,000 yen for hot coil based electro galvanized steel and 95,000-98,000 yen for cold coil based electro galvanized steel around Tokyo.

Hanwa Corporation, Japanese major large dealer raises the selling price of sheet price by 5,000 yen per tonne from Monday around Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka. The market price is expected to rise for mainly hot rolled sheet. Dealers aim to move into the black when dealers’ inventory adjustment is advancing and iron ore and coal price didn’t largely decrease. Imported sheet price is rising.

On the other hand, dealers’ shipment maintains low. The demand for automobile is recovering but that for building material is low. Dealers’ sales competition is keen.
