Weak H-Beam Price in Tokyo

H-beam market price is weak at around 70,000 yen per tonne around for 200 by 100 millimeters width Tokyo. Dealers’ shipment is decreasing. Dealers are reducing the reselling price to secure the sales volume. The market price is likely to edge lower despite of rising ferrous scrap.

Dealers’ H-beam inventory keeps minimum level from last month. Some size products become short. However, surplus inventory feeling is still strong in the market.

Ferrous scrap purchase price by electric furnace steel makers is rising to around 27,000 yen per tonne around Tokyo. On the other hand, some dealers are decreasing the reselling price lower than the market price due to slow shipment. Some dealers seem to secure the sales even if deficits are produced.

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing’s price announcement for August orders is scheduled on 21 July. Tokyo Steel is kicking around the price cut. The market price may decline more.
