Sankyo-Tateyama Optimizes Domestic Plants Including Suspension

Sankyo-Tateyama Holdings revealed current conditions of its domestic plants’ optimization. Sankyo-Tateyama Aluminium, the main subsidiary to manufacture aluminium rolled products, will implement outsourcing inside Fukuoka plant and Himi plant, Toyama, toward October 2009. The previous productive optimization was to integrate aluminium extruded shape production and surface treating process into Imizu plant, Toyama, from Fukuoka plant in January 2009. At Imizu plant, 3 extruders have been suspended since June along the demand decline.

Sankyo Material, another subsidiary for non-architectural-material business, has suspended Takaoka Nishi plant, Toyama, since June and integrated operation into Ishikawa plant, Ishikawa, and Sankyo-Tateyama Aluminium’s Imizu plant. The processing process in Takaoka plant, Toyama, is also suspended and integrated into Ishikawa plant.

Sankyo-Tateyama Holdings is promoting optimization in the fabricating sector to follow market shrinkage of architectural materials. The company aims to regain profits by improvement of productive efficiency.
