Ferrous scrap price is increasing around Tokyo. Market price is around 19,000 yen per tonne at dealers including freight for H2 grade while around 20,800 yen per tonne for H1 grade and around 22,500 yen per tonne for HS grade.
The purchase price by local electric furnace steel makers is around 25,500-26,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade while higher price is around 27,000 yen per tonne. Market price is unchanged while most of local electric steels keep the purchase price unchanged. However, scrap supply is at low level compared with the demand due to the generation decrease. The price would increase. Scrap price around Osaka is also increasing.
