Japan H-Beam Makers Raise Export Price to Over US$ 650/t

Japanese integrated steel makers increased offering export price of H-beam to over C&F US$ 650 per tonne for September shipment. Some makers offered the export price at US$ 680 when overseas market price becomes strong due to high ferrous scrap price. Overseas users are increasing orders for civil engineering thanks to economic stimulating measures in countries such as China. The makers will raise the export price more.

Japanese H-beam export price dropped to C&F US$ 500 per tonne temporally while rebounded to US$ 580 for July shipment and over US$ 600 for August shipment. Overseas H-beam makers announced the price hike due to rising ferrous scrap. Overseas market price increased by over US$ 100 for a few months. Japanese integrated steel makers are trying to reflect upsurge of international market price on their export price.

Domestic and overseas private investment is low while public investment is active in China, South East Asia and Middle East. These areas carried out economic stimulating measures instantaneously more than Japan. Japanese makers are focusing on the export to these areas when American steel market keeps low.

Japanese sheet pile export price is rising to over C&F US$ 600 per tonne for August shipment. Sheet pile makers aim to raise the export price more.
