Firm Ferrous Scrap Price in Tokyo

Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 19,000 yen per tonne for H2, around 20,800 yen for H1 and around 22,500 yen for HS at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep firm due to tight supply.

Local electric furnace steel makers pay 25,500-27,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Tokyo. The makers keep the purchase price level in the week. However, offshore buyers keep showing appetite for Japanese scrap. A trading firm source expects domestic market could be lifted depending on the export transaction.

Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 18,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka. Local electric furnace steel makers pay 25,500-27,000 yen for H2.
