Ahresty’s Guangzhou Plant Enjoys High Die Casting Demand

Japanese die casing maker, Ahresty’s productive subsidiary in China, Guangzhou Ahresty Casting (GAC) plans to expand its die casting output to more than 10,000 tonnes per annum in 2009, up by 51% from 2008. Demand for die casting is sharply increasing along automobile output growth supported by Chinese governmental economy stimulating measure. Ahresty will transfer 3 die casting machines from Japanese plants to GAC by spring 2010 for capacity expansion.

GAC’s production decreased by 20% year-to-year during January-February. Order receipt volume turned upward in March along car production recovery in China. GAC has entered 7-day operation per week since March. At the same time, GAC increased employees to present 650 from 580 at the beginning of this year. The firm plans additional 150 employee increase toward the end of 2009.

GAC now operates 17 die casting machines. Ahresty plans to transfer a middle-size machine from Japanese plant in September and another machine by the end of this year. In spring 2010, a large-size 2,250-tonne machine will be also transferred.

GAC’s annual production is expected to exceed 10,000 tonnes for the first time in 2009 since the firm started operation in 2003. The annual output totaled 6,600 tonnes in 2008. GAC’s profit is estimated to increase by 20% year-to-year in 2009 thanks to the sales increase.
