Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 20,500 yen per tonne for H2, around 22,300 yen for H1 and around 24,000 yen for HS grade at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The market interests expect the price mood could improve after positive export tender.
Local electric furnace steel makers pay 27,000-28,500 yen per tonne for H2 scrap around Tokyo. Scrap export price from Tokyo bay is around FOB 29,500 yen at current negotiation. Successful bid was averaged FAS 29,375 yen at monthly export tender held by Kanto Tetsugen on Wednesday. The higher export price than domestic electric furnace steels’ purchase price is expected to support domestic market.
