Sumitomo Corp Integrates 3 Tube Sales Subsidiaries

Sumitomo Corporation announced on Thursday the firm integrates 3 steel tube sales subsidiaries, Sumisyo Pipe and Steel, SC Pipe Solutions and Toyo Kokan in April 1, 2010. Sumitomo Corp integrates steel tube sales strategy against domestic market by the integration of 3 subsidiaries, which will build up selling power to dealer, automobile, construction machine and plant. Other tube sales companies are expected to be integrated when steel tube market is shrinking.

Sumitomo Corp, Japanese major business house aims integrated company’s sales at 70 billion yen in fiscal 2010 at ended March 2011, 100 billion yen after fiscal 2012. The sales are expected to become top in all tube dealers.

Integrated company’s name is SC Pipe Solutions, which has 21 bases across the country, has tube inventory at 40,000 tonnes and sells tube products at 400,000 tonnes per year. Sumitomo Corp invests 100% of capital fund at 843 million yen. The employees are 522 peoples. Total sales of 3 subsidiaries are about 63 billion yen in the business year ending in March 2009.

Integrated company builds up function, beefs up customer service, aggregates each bases of 3 subsidiaries and sophisticates internal control system.

SC Pipe Solutions stocks varied tube such as welded tube and seamless tube, and sells the products to dealers, plant, shipbuilding, electric power and construction machine and industrial machine.

Toyo Kokan only stocks steel tube for cylinder, aluminum tube and stainless tube in Japan. Sumisyo Pipe and Steel stocks steel tube for automobile component across the country.
