Japan Ferroalloy Import Price Hits Bottom

Unit price of Japanese silicon manganese import was CIF 101,300 yen per tonne in August, which rose by 6.3% from July and reached 100,000 yen for the first time in 3 months, according to Ministry of Finance. Ferrochrome import unit price rebounded after 5 months. Averaged import price of ferroalloy increased by 2.2% to 146,600 yen, which rebounded after 6 months.

Ferronickel import unit price increased by 2.9% in August from July, which surged for 3 consecutive months. Molybdenum import price rose by 8.7%, increasing for 2 consecutive months. High and middle carbon ferromanganese, ferrosilicon import prices dropped while most ferroalloy import prices seemed to hit bottom.
