Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 18,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade, 19,800 yen for H1 grade and 21,500 yen for HS grade at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. Local electric furnace steel makers’ purchase price is also flat at 24,000-25,000 yen for H2 grade. The price is likely to keep the level under increasing export price.
The purchase price by some electric furnace steels is as high as around 25,000 yen. The export price slightly increased to around FOB 25,000 yen per tonne from last week. Some market sources expect the market price is unlikely to drop due to the increase in export price. The dealers’ purchase price is flat at around 17,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka while local electric furnace steels pay 24,500-26,000 yen for H2 grade.Japan Steel Scrap Composite Prices (Sangyo Press)
