H-beam Price Drops to 65,000 y/t around Tokyo

H-beam market price decreased to 65,000 yen per tonne from last week around Tokyo, which is continuing to drop in this week. Many dealers said the order from users reduced in November from October, which are competing for the sales. Dealers are reducing the selling price though makers keep the selling price. Because users are more requiring the price cut to dealers, dealers are more reducing the selling price.

The demand is significantly decreasing around Tokyo. The demand for steel frame decreased to 84,237 tonnes by 34% in September from August around Tokyo, which less than the level of May at 89,285 tonnes.

Dealers are reducing the inventory, but their inventory adjustment doesn’t advance due to low order. The amount of dealers’ inventory increased to 52,400 tonnes by 0.4% at ended October from September around Tokyo, which is increasing due to low shipment. Large dealer prospects the inventory volume increases at ended November.

Steel framers are accepting an order which is break-even situation. They are requesting the price cut to dealers when they reduce material cost.
