Japan Rolled Aluminium Output Drops by 15.9% in October

Japanese rolled aluminum output decreased by 15.9% to 164,304 tonnes in October from a year earlier and the shipment decreased by 14.3% to 165,480 tonnes, according to Japan Aluminium Association. Both the output and the shipment decreased for 13 months in a row. However, the range of drop was narrower than before while the demand remained low.

The flat products output and shipment showed year-on-year decrease for 13 months in a row through October. The demand for general machine increased for the first time in 13 months while the demand for can material stayed at low level. The extrusions output and shipment decreased for 33 straight months when the construction demand keeps decreasing.

The foil output and shipment decreased for 13 months in a row through October. However, the output and the shipment became to more than 10,000 tonnes when the capacitor demand recovered.

The inventory increased for extrusions in October from a year earlier while the stock of flat products and foil decreased.
