Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 18,000 yen per tonne for H2, around 19,800 yen for H1 and 21,500 yen for HS at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The purchase price by local electric furnace steel makers is 24,000-25,500 yen for H2.
The local steel makers keep the scrap purchase price since early November. The export shipping from Tokyo bay supports the local supply balance despite of the slow local demand. The scrap market price is expected to keep firm due to the higher export price. Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 16,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
