Nippon Light Metal to Expand Offshore Sales in New 3-Year Plan

Nippon Light Metal targets 15-20% of offshore sales in the total sales under new 3-year plan starting April 2010 while the rate was around 10% in the year to March 2010. The firm tries to follow growing offshore demand in China and offshore market. The firm focuses the resource in growing business while the firm withdraws from sash business.

The firm expands the offshore business network for higher sales. The firm also develops new application and new products by combining each technology. The firm tries to improve the profitability to 35 billion yen of recurring profit, which was target of current 3-year plan through the year to March 2010.

The firm’s Chinese business keeps firm production and sales including the group companies. The subsidiary, Nikkeikin Aluminium Core Technology operates the Chinese 2 plants at full capacity. NI Nikkei Shenzhen’ production reaches annual 2.9 million units including bumper and sunroof guide rail. Nikkei (Shanghai) Body Parts’ production reaches annual 300,000 units of sunroof. The subsidiary, Toyo Aluminium plans expansion of Chinese 2 plants for paste and back sheet for solar battery to meet growing demand. Nikkei MC Aluminium’s plant in Kunshan, China operates at full capacity.

Nikkei Siam Aluminium operates at full capacity after the expansion to monthly 1,200-1,300 tonnes when the users of transplants of Japanese manufacturers increase local procurement. The Thai plant eyes further expansion.
