Onamba Expands PVU Output Capacity in Vietnam and China

Onamba, Osaka based electric wire and cable maker, implements an additional investment for its Vietnamese plant to manufacture photovoltaic interconnecting unit (PVU). Vietnamese plant is the largest productive site for PVU in Onamba’s global network. The plant’s output capacity will reach 1 million units per month by the expansion. Onamba also started operation of a branch factory of Jiangsu plant, China this month. PVU is a kind of wiring harness connecting an integrated terminal box, waterproof connectors and cables to link PV modules.

Vietnamese plant is located near Ho Chi Minh. The plant had started commercial operation of the third productive line in October 2009 and the PVU output capacity reached 750,000 units per month by 24-hour operation. Onamba decided an additional expansion with 100 million yen investment since the newest line already entered full capacity production. The plant site will be doubled to 6,000 square meters and another insulating machine will be added to the existent one.

Another subsidiary in Jiangsu, China started commercial operation of a branch factory. The output capacity increased to approximately 200,000 units per month. Total capacity in China is 300,000 units per month at present.
