Anglo Asia Enjoys Favorable Demand for Secondary Al Alloy in Southeast Asia

Anglo Asia Group, Bangkok headed large secondary aluminium alloy maker, enjoys favorable operations of its 4 plants in Southeast Asian countries. The Group’s largest plant in Thailand keeps full production with strong demand from both domestic and overseas markets.

Anglo Asia Group produces aluminium alloys such as AC4B, AC4C and AC2A used as materials for automotive casting components including aluminium wheels. The Group also covers the aluminium scrap trading business.

Thai plant’s output capacity is 1,200 tonnes per month. The plant’s operating rate dropped to 40% against the capacity in January 2009 while recovered to 60% in August and reentered full production in November. Most of the products are sold to domestic auto component makers and the rest products are exported to Japanese die casting maker’s plant in India.

The Group is recently suffered from material shortage. There has little scrap import from USA for late 3-4 months. USA is the country where aluminium scrap generation volume is the largest in the world. Anglo Asia Group is temporarily suspending material procurement from Northwest America and purchasing aluminium scrap from other countries in Europe, South Africa and Middle East.

Anglo Asia Group’s other plants are also in favorable operations. The 3 plants are located in Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam. Each plant’s output capacity is 600 tonnes per month.
