Sanwa Holdings Expands Door and Shutter Businesses in Asia

Sanwa Holdings aims to expand overseas businesses to cover significant downturn in domestic construction material market. In China where the economy keeps strong growth, Shanghai Baosteel-Sanwa Door, a joint venture company with Bao Steel to manufacture shutters and overhead doors, is expected to post more than 1.5 billion yen annual revenue for fiscal 2009 and reach 3 billion yen in fiscal 2010 thanks to the order increase related to Shanghai Expo. In Vietnam, Sanwa Holdings plans to open a new business office in Ho Chi Minh soon. The firm tries to cultivate the global market, mainly in Asia.

Shanghai Baosteel-Sanwa Door is expected to construct the second plant to meet increasing orders. As to other subsidiaries in China, Novoferm Shanghai is trying to expand door order receipts in cooperation with Shanghai Baosteel-Sanwa Door. Novoferm Shanghai was recently made the 100% subsidiary by Sanwa Holdings. Sanwa Shutter Design (Shanghai) Corporation is expected to play an important roll as a low cost production base when Sanwa Group progresses total cost reduction in Japan.

In Vietnam, Vina-Sanwa Company Liability started the plant operation in February 2009. The subsidiary soon opens the new business office in Ho Chi Minh. Vina-Sanwa targets to turn into the black in fiscal 2010 by sales reinforcement toward southern areas of the country.

In Taiwan, An-Ho Metal Industrial keeps order receipts as much as 2008. The subsidiary plans to expand shutter and stainless steel businesses in a medium term as well as the existent door business.
