Daiki Aluminium to Increase Secondary Al Price by 15 yen/kg

Daiki Aluminium Industry aims to increase secondary aluminium alloy price by 10-15 yen per kilogram for shipment in February. The firm increased the price by 20-25 yen for AD12.1 for January shipment. The firm aims to increase the price more in February when the production cost increased to more than 185 yen due to the increase in aluminium scrap and other materials price.

Aluminium scrap supply remains at low level and the price would not decrease while the demand is firm for low grade scrap, the main material of secondary alloy.

Overseas secondary aluminium alloy price stays high. Sigma Group in China offers CIF US$ 2,270 per tonne for the export to Japan and USA ferrous scrap export price is CIF US$ 1,850 per tonne.

Secondary aluminium alloy users in Japan could not have purchased import alloy for February-March arrival. The users aim to increase the domestic alloy purchase. However, Daiki Aluminium and other Japanese alloy makers cannot increase the output due to the tight scrap supply.
