Osaka Steel to Increase Angle, Channel Price for March Order

Osaka Steel increases angle and channel steels by 3,000 yen per tonne for order in March, announced on Tuesday. The firm passes the higher material cost to the products price to improve the profitability while ferrous scrap price is increasing. The firm cuts the order receipt to adjust supply and demand balance.

Japanese demand for the products stays at low level due to Japanese economic stagnation. The firm expects the demand keeps low level while the dealers’ inventory is low level with some stock out sizes.

On the other hand, ferrous scrap price stays at high level and the price would increase more while iron ore and metallurgical coal price is expected to increase. Osaka Steel increases the products price to pass the higher material cost.
