Japan Al Construction Materials Output Drops by 13.7% in January

Japanese production of aluminium construction materials decreased by 13.7% to 18,834 tonnes in January from a year earlier, according to Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The shipment decreased by 9.3% to 22,361 tonnes. The demand was still slow under low level housing start.

The production and shipment decreased for aluminium sash for wooden house in January-from a year earlier. However, the decrease was narrower than December with slightly improving demand. The production of aluminium sash for building decreased by 20.2% from a year earlier. The production and shipment of aluminium door and exterior also decreased while the door’s decrease was narrower than exterior.
