Nippon Amazon Aluminium Decides No Dividend from 2009 Operation

Nippon Amazon Aluminium, Japanese investing company for a Japan-Brazil joint venture project “Amazon Aluminium Project” in Brazil, decided to pass a dividend for the first time in recent 4 fiscal years. The JV’s profit widely declined in a full year of 2009.

Nippon Amazon Aluminium announced on Tuesday the firm received dividends from the JV at 306 million yen for a full year of 2009 while the dividends were 2.922 billion yen in 2008. As a result, Nippon Amazon Aluminium posted the operating revenue at 490 million yen with the operating loss at 95 million yen for 2009. The operating revenue decreased by 84.9% from the previous year. The operating profit was 2.526 billion yen in 2008.

The received dividends were 288 million yen from ALBRAS and 18 million yen from ALUNORTE.

Nippon Amazon Aluminium saved the recurring profit at 19 million yen and the net profit at 11 million yen for 2009 though the recurring profit lowered by 98.6% and the net profit declined by 98.9% from the previous year. There was non-operating income at 114 million yen mainly from currency exchange profit.
