Japanese Traders Eye Stable Aluminium Scrap Export to China

Japanese nonferrous metal traders and scrap dealers recently target China as the market to export aluminium scrap stably. They seek new markets and consumers of aluminium scrap when Japanese aluminium scrap market is forecasted to shrink in middle and long terms. The export to China is one of the choices. Their exporting rate may become higher in several years though the shipment to China is still limited at present.

Aloconix Corporation started test export of aluminium scrap to China in 2009. Alconix’s Tokyo head office currently procures secondary aluminium alloy from overseas at 1,500 tonnes per month, 70% of which comes from China. Alconix plans to sell aluminium scrap to Chinese secondary aluminium alloy makers. The firm aims to bring the export into the concrete business within fiscal 2010 starting in April.

TAK Trading, Tokyo headed nonferrous metal trader, recently applied for an exporting license. The firm plans to supply aluminium scrap stably to Baoding Longda Aluminium Industry in Hebei, China in future. Banding Longda is a secondary aluminium alloy maker in which TAK Trading invests. The alloy maker is currently suffered from material shortage.

Nikki Industry, Chiba headed dealer of used home appliances and nonferrous metal scrap, will acquire an exporting license this spring. The dealer plans to start export of aluminium scrap and copper scrap to China as soon as the license acuquisition.
