Japan Electric Furnaces Increases Ferrous Scrap Purchase Price

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing increases ferrous scrap purchase price by 1,500 yen per tonne for all grades at all plants on March 12, announced on Thursday. The price increases to 34,500-37,000 yen per for H2 grade. Daido Steel, Aichi Steel and Chubu Steel Plate increased the price by 1,000 yen per tonne around Nagoya on Thursday while Yamaguchi Kogyo increased the price by 2,000 yen. Itoh Iron & Steel, JFE Bars & Shapes, Tokyo Tekko increased the price by 1,000 yen around Sendai on Thursday.

Ferrous scrap market price was around 27,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade at the dealers’ purchase including freight around Tokyo on Thursday while the price was around 26,000 around Osaka.
