Mitsubishi Shindoh to Increase Copper Strip Capacity by 2,000T

Mitsubishi Shindoh has completed the construction of new 7.2 billion yen rolling mill at Sambo plant, Osaka. The copper and brass strip production capacity increases by 2,000 tonnes to 5,600 tonnes per month. Mitsubishi Shindoh moves forward the production optimization between Sambo plant and Wakamatsu Plant, Fukushima.

Mitsubishi Shindoh started the operation of new rolling mill in January and the firm has completed the introduction of all facilities including large-sized cold rolling mill, tension leveling machine, bell type annealing furnace, continuous degreasing and pickling machine, slitter, shearing machine and packaging machine. The annealing furnace can treat 40 tonnes coil per batch. The new plant can make products with 0.08-6 millimeter thick and up to 750 mm widths.

Mitsubishi Shindoh plans to manufacture the semiconductor material and electronic material at Sambo plant as Wakamatsu plant. The firm plans to increase the export from the new plant, which is located in port area.
