Furukawa Electric Reorganizes Electric Power Component Divisions

Furukawa Electric announced on Wednesday the firm integrates the sales divisions and the technical support divisions for electric power components in Yokohama Works, Kanagawa Prefecture of Japan effective on April 1st. At the same time, the firm establishes an Energy Back Cast (EBC) team in Yokohama Works to design and implement the mid-term strategy for energy business.

The integration of the sales and technical support divisions involves medium and low voltage power distribution components, connecting tools and terminals, bus ways, insulated trolley wires and MI (mineral insulation) cables, produced by Furukawa Electric and its 100% subsidiary, Furukawa Power Components.

The EBC team is consisted of various members of Furukawa Electric Group to draw out the management plans for energy business toward the mid-term aims. The EBC team is expected to cooperate keenly and exchange information with the sales and R&D divisions inside Yokohama Works.

Furukawa Electric Group targets to expand the energy related businesses by observation of the growing market and integration of the Group’s unique technologies. The Group’s annual sales of electric power components are currently 20 billion yen while the Group aims to expand the sales by 20% in next 3 years.
