Japanese Al Construction Material Shipment Slightly Recovers in February

Japanese aluminium re-rollers’ production of aluminium construction materials totaled 19,089 tonnes in February, decreasing by 5.4% from a year earlier while increasing by 13.8% from a month ago, according to the statistics by Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry. The shipment was 22,218 tonnes, down by 5.7% year-to-year while up by 9.5% month-to-month.

Aluminium sashes for wooden houses and aluminium doors represented year-to-year increase. Aluminium sashes for wooden houses turned to the increase after 5 months. Meanwhile, aluminium sashes for buildings still maintained 2-digit ddecrease at both production and shipment. Aluminium exteriors represented decrease for 2 months in a row though which increased temporarily at the end of 2009.
