Mitsui & CO to Establish First Coil Center in India

Mitsui & CO., establishes the coil center in India with Ruchi Global, headed India announced on Thursday. The joint venture headed near Delhi is planned to start the operation on July 2011 and the shipment is planned at 140,000 tonnes per year. Mitsui & CO., establishes the coil center in India for the first time. The firm plans to establish the coil centers in Chennai, Mumbai and Pune to supply the processing service all over India.

Both of Mitsui & CO., and Ruchi Global hold each 50% interests in the joint venture. The firm would introduce slitters and levelers.

Mitsui & CO., took a 20% invest in Indian Steel Corporation, the cold rolled and galvanized sheet maker in 2005 and Mitsui has been co-managed ISC with Ruchi. The firm establishes the coil center when ISC increases the capacity to 600,000 tonnes per year and aims to supply processed steel sheet to automobile, electronics and construction material.
