Japanese ferroalloy import decreased by 45.2% to 1.11 million tonnes in fiscal 2009 ended March 2010 from fiscal 2008, which decreased for 2 years in a row, according to Ministry of Finance. The averaged import price decreased by 43.3% to 148,300 yen per tonne, which represented decline for the first time in 3 years.
