Kobelco Crane Strengthens Global Presence for F2010-2012

Kobelco Crane, Japanese major crane maker, announced the new mid-term management plan for fiscal 2010-2012 ending in March 2013 on Wednesday, along which the firm aims to strengthen its presence in the global stage. The firm plans to increase consolidated net sales to 100 billion yen with consolidated recurring profit of 10 billion yen in fiscal 2015 ending in March 2016.

The firm prospects net sales slightly decreases in fiscal 2010 from 2009 while increases to 60 billion yen per year in fiscal 2011 and 2012. The firm plans to increase overseas business bases. As to sales and service offices, the firm will increase the number to 10 from present 6. The firm also eyes to start production at one or more offshore plants.

Capital investment is planned at 2 billion yen while R&D investment is set at 6 billion yen for fiscal 2010-2012. Each capital expenditure was 2 billion yen in fiscal 2009.
