JFE Steel Wins US$ 200/t Export Hike for NO Electrical Steel in Apr-Jun

JFE Steel has concluded the export price negotiation for non oriented electrical steel sheet with some Japanese electronics users to increase the price by around US$ 200 per tonne for the shipment in April-June from March. The firm aims to increase the price by more than US$ 200. The firm would stop July shipment to the users, which have not accepted the price increase in April-June, when the demand is firm in Asia and steelmaking material cost is likely to increase in July-September.

JFE cannot accept the order more for June shipment when the firm already closed the order book. However, the users still seek the shipment in April-June while JFE Steel has limited room for additional order for July shipment.

The export price increased by around US$ 200 to FOB US$ 950-1,000 per tonne for non-Japanese users for April-June shipment.
