Marubeni Metals Starts Al Can Material and HD Substrate Export

Marubeni Metals Corporation, Marubeni Group’s trading house to deal nonferrous metal products, started export business of aluminium can materials and aluminium substrates for hard discs in fiscal 2010 started in April. The firm succeeded the business from Marubeni Corporation, the parent company of Japanese general trading company. Marubeni Metals became to control all export business of rolled aluminium products inside Marubeni Group. Mr. Takahito Kuboi, Marubeni Metals’ president explained the company’s annual revenue is expected to increase by 20 billion yen thanks to the succession.

Marubeni Metals has dealt aluminium brazing sheets for heat exchangers, aluminium sheets for capacitors or aluminium plates for machines. By addition of can materials and hard disc substrates, the company’s net sales would increase by 68.3% to 88 billion yen in fiscal 2010 from fiscal 2009.

Mr. Kuboi said the firm plans to raise exporting and importing sales ratio to 70% or more within next 3 years from present 45%. Marubeni Metals aims to increase export of aluminium can materials, hard disc substrates and plates for liquid crystal panel manufacturing equipment mainly for China, Taiwan, South Korea and Southeast Asia.
