Mitsubishi Aluminum plans the annual shipment of rolled aluminium products, including flat products, extrusions and foils, at 149,000 tonnes for fiscal 2010 ending in March 2011, inclreasing by 5.7% compared with fiscal 2009. The shipment decreased by 7.9% in fiscal 2009 compared with the previous fiscal year.
For fiscal 2010, flat aluminium shipment is planned at 108,000 tonnes, increasing by 4.4% from fiscal 2009, and extrusion shipment is estimated at 20,000 tonnes, increasing by 6.2%. Foil shipment is planned to increase by 12.4% to 21,000 tonnes. The volume recovery is expected for automobile, electric appliance and general machine industries as well as steady demand for can materials. In fiscal 2009, the total shipment decreased by 7.9% to 140,996 tonnes compared with fiscal 2008. Flat aluminium shipment decreased by 7.7% to 103,448 tonnes and extrusion shipment lowered by 17.4% to 18,824 tonnes. Foil shipment increased by 3.4% to 18,684 tonnes. Can material shipment was relatively steady but the demand significantly declined in car and electric appliance industries.
