Nippon Seisen to Expand Thai Stainless Steel Wire Output

Japanese major stainless steel wire maker, Nippon Seisen plans to increase the stainless steel wire production of the subsidiary, Thai Seisen to 500-600 tonnes per month to have the largest share of stainless steel wire in Thailand. Thai Seisen increases high-value added products including stainless steel spring wire.

The production of Thai Seisen was less than 50% in the bottom compared with the level in the peak due to the world economy recession. However, the production is increasing since summer of 2009 due to the economy recovery in Thailand.

Thai Seisen started the supply of new stainless steel spring wire to local transplants of Japanese spring makers in Thailand and Southeast Asian countries. The firm increases the spring wire production while the current main product is soft stainless steel wire, which is used for screw.

The firm plans to increase the spring wire production to 100 tonnes per month in 2010 to increase the share in Thailand.
