Japan Stainless Steel Import Increases by 4.1% in April

Japanese stainless steel import increased by 4.1% to 13,402 tonnes including flat rolled, long and tube products in April from March, according to Japan Stainless Steel Association. The import of flat rolled products decreased by 2.5% to 10,600 tonnes and tubes import decreased by 3.6% to 565 tonnes while the long products import increased by 58.0% to 2,237 tonnes.

The import of hot rolled flat products decreased by 5.2% to 4,290 tonnes in April from March. The import of cold rolled flat products decreased by 0.6% to 6,311 tonnes. The cold rolled flat products import increases when the monthly volume recorded more than 6,000 tonnes in January, March and April.
