JFE Shoji Trade Corp Establishes Second Coil Center in Thailand

JFE Shoji Trade Corporation, Japanese major steel large dealer announced on Friday to establish coil center in Rayong prefecture, Thailand for mainly automobile with Summit Corporation which produces automobile components and processes steel products. The amount of investment is about 2 billion yen. The firm will start operation in April 2011. JFE Shoji Trade Corporation has 5 coil centers in China, and has coil enters in Taiwan, Southeast Asia or Mexico. New coil center in Thailand is second bases in Thailand and fourteenth in overseas.

New coil center’s name is Steel Alliance Service Center. The capital fund is 385 million baht or about 1.1 billion yen of 70% by JFE Shoji Corporation group and 30% by Summit Corporation group. JFE Shoji Trade Corp sends president to new coil center. JFE Shoji Trade Corp cordoned off land at about 78,000 square meters and constructed plant in Hemaraj eastern industrial estate, Rayong prefecture. New coil center has one slitter and one mini leveler, and has the capacity at 6,000 tonnes per month. Employee is 35 peoples.

Automobile output in Thailand dropped after global depression, while is recovering largely from at ended 2009, and is expected to increase to 1.5 million cars by 8% in 2010 from 2009 and to be record high. New automobile makers are forging ahead in Thailand thanks to eco-car project by government. Automobile industries have many plants in southeast, Thailand. The demand for steel sheet is expected to expand in the future.

Summit Corporation’ sales is 20 billion baht per year. The corporation has about 30 subsidiaries and employee at 10000 peoples.
