Nippon Metal Industry Acquires ASME Code Case for High Corrosion Resistance Stainless

Nippon Metal Industry announced on Friday to get code case of American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) for high corrosion resistance stainless sheet, SUS 316 of molybdenum saving steel grade, NTK-M1C, which completed registration. ASME committee gave approval on January 13. NTK-M1C was registered as for stainless sheet for pressure container until 400 degrees C. The firm’s sales for NTK-M1C is expected increase when the firm enhances the sales to domestic market.

NTK-M1C contains 17-20.5% chrome, 8.5-11.5% nickel, 0.5-1.5% molybdenum and 0.5-3.5% copper, which is molybdenum saving austenite stainless sheet and has high corrosion resistance to rank with SUS 316.

NTK-M1C excel in corrosion resistance for corrosion fracture or nonoxidizing acid in hot water, which is used to water heater, tube for chemical equipment, heat exchange tube, dyeing machine and food process machine. Nippon Metal Industry announced to be registered nickel saving stainless products, D series, NTKD-7S, NTKD-10S and NTKD-11 as ASTM. The firm aims to expand the sales of original products by acquirement of ASTM for NTK-M1C.
