Japan Black Plate Export Price Rises by US$ 50-100/t for July-September

Japanese integrated steel makers’ black plate, which is mother plate for tin plate, export price increased by US$ 50-100 to FOB US$ 1,050-1,100 per tonne for the shipment in July-September from April-June. The makers won the higher price due to the strong demand in emerging countries including South East Asian nations.

The Japanese integrated steels’ export price of tin plate increased by US$ 200-250 per tonne for the shipment in April-June and the price increased for 4 quarters in a row through July-September shipment. The integrated steels aim to secure the profitability and stable supply considering the price competition between other container materials including plastic and aluminium.
