Mn Ferroalloy Price Declines

Manganese series ferroalloy international market price is weak. Indian silicomanganese export offer price is less than CIF US$ 1,450 per tonne to Japan, which declined by around US$ 50 in the past month and US$ 200 lower than the level in the peak in April, according to Japanese trade firm sources. The silicomanganese makers in India aim to increase the export volume to Asia even if the price decreases. On the other hand, some makers seem to reduce the output in the summer lull when they lost the money due to the higher electric power cost and manganese ore price. The ferroalloy price depends on the manganese ore price and supply and demand balance of product after fall.

Chinese makers’ silicomanganese export offer price is CIF US$ 1,550-1,600 per tonne to Japan, which declined by US$ 40-50 from the end of June, according to the Chinese source.

The manganese ore price stays high level at US$ 8.7 per 1 percent of manganese with 44% purity for the shipment to China in August, which remains flat from July. However, the spot price decreased to less than US$ 8 and would decline more when the alloy makers in China reduced the output.
