Weak Secondary Al Alloy Price in Tokyo

Overseas secondary aluminium ingot price is flat with weak tone. The offer price of world’s largest maker, Shanghai Sigma Metals is CIF US$ 2,160-2,170 per tonne for AD 12.1 grade from China to Japan and other Chinese makers’ offer price is CIF US$ 2,060-2,100.

The trade firms around Tokyo receive few inquiries from Japanese secondary aluminium users when the users have booked the ingot for arrival in September, according to a trader source. Most of the users plan to reduce the purchase volume when Japanese automobile production could decrease after October due to the end of tax reduction for purchasing eco-friendly car.

Japanese secondary aluminium ingot import from China increased by 43% to slightly more than 34,000 tonnes in May from April, according to Ministry of Finance. The import seemed to be at a high level in June and the low-priced ingot import at less than 210 yen per kilogram increases in July, a trader source said.
