Indium Market Price in Steady Mood in Tokyo

Indium ingot market price is steady at around 52,000 yen per kilogram for a small lot shipment of low grade ingot used as alloy materials around Tokyo. International market price stays at around US$ 530-540 per kg since early July for low grade ingot made in China. Japanese rare metal trader said the market price does not seem to decline and may turn upward in a short term.

Japanese domestic price is slightly lowered by underlying trend of strong yen against US dollar compared with early July. Telegraphic transfer selling rate was 87-88 yen per US dollar as of July 22, stronger than 89-90 yen in early July.

Domestic indium market price was likely to reach 55,000 yen in early July but still stays at around 52,000 yen due to strong yen trend. Ingot trading is active with stable demand, said a rare metal trader. Bottom price is edging upward thanks to favorable demand.
