Kobe Steel Introduces New Large Press Machine for Ships

Kobe Steel announced on Monday the firm completed construction of a new 10,000-tonne press machine line in Takasago works, Hyogo, Japan. The press can process almost all items of large-size vessel parts such as crankshaft with its world top class speed and accuracy. The investment is approximately 22 billion yen. The firm now holds 3 press lines in Takasago works, those which contribute to better productivity by sizes.

Kobe Steel constructed a new factory building inside Takasago works and introduced new press machine, manipulator, heating furnace and heat treating furnace. New press machine hummers out large size vessel parts at high speed. The works plans to use 4,000-tonne press machine for small-middle size products while 13,000-tonne press machine for super large size products.
